Liz Berney
Of Counsel
Liz Berney is a highly experienced litigator who has worked at national plaintiffs’
firms as well as Dewey Ballantine and Gilbert, Segall and Young. Her practice focuses
on complex financial, employment and commercial litigation. Liz also has wide experience
in fraud investigations. Ms. Berney has worked on numerous large, complex commercial
and financial litigations, including Enron Corporation Securities Litigation
(S.D. Tex.), In re Xerox Corporation Securities Litigation (D. Conn.),
and In re Yahoo Derivative Shareholder Litigation (Del. Ch.). Most recently,
she has represented hedge funds and large private investors in connection with art
and financial fraud.
In addition to co-authoring Restoring Investor Trust in Auditing Standards and Accounting
Principles, Harvard Journal of Legislation (Winter 2004), Ms. Berney has
also served as guest lecturer at Cardozo Law School, Harvard Law School, and been
featured as a panelist for the Women’s National Book Association. Ms. Berney maintains
her own media law practice, where she negotiates contracts for notable authors.
